We may be asked to express an opinion on one or more items in a set of financial statements. When doing so, we always bear in mind that the majority of entries in a set of financial statements are interrelated, and this must be taken into account when planning any kind of task aimed at issuing an expert opinion or certifying some specific circumstance.

The scope of this type of work is usually greater than it would be if the same information were audited together with the rest of the financial statements.

It is therefore necessary to precisely identify the information required and, on that basis, prepare an engagement letter that satisfies the client’s needs.
